Early Head Start

EHS has an opening for an Educator in Pryor Central and BA ELC ; EHS classrooms serve children 0-3 and have 8 children and 2 educators. EHS Educator positions require a CDA in Infant/Toddler. In the event that a fully qualified teacher is not available, the program may hire someone into a trainee position with a “fast track” to a CDA.  Full time, full benefits.  EEOE.   Open until filled; contact gburris@cardcaa.org to express interest. 

Position open: EHS Family Mentor Specialist, Broken Arrow

Family Mentors are charged with supporting strong family engagement and collaborating with families in their individual pursuits towards a wide range of relevant goals which are individualized by that family with the FMS’s support and guidance.  FMS staff ensure that Early Head Start infants, expectant families, home-based and center-based parents have access to the full range of EHS & HS services and other social services within the community. Coordinating, planning and follow through of comprehensive services for families, along with the EHS & designated H.S. education staff is an integral part of this position. The successful FMS provides relationship-based services, forming nurturing and supportive relationships with the children and their families, and works diligently to ensure that partnership agreements are ongoing, dynamic, parent-driven and effective. As a representative of CARD, the FMS assists in the development of community partnerships, as well as recruitment of EHS & H.S. families, and plans and implements culturally sensitive and dynamic programming for Federal initiatives. 

  • Preferred educational background: degrees in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a

related field. Those hired without the relevant degree shall attain a credential or certification in family services, family development, social work or a related field within 18 months of hire.

  • Be flexible in scheduling time to accommodate family needs (may include some evening or weekends).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish skills highly desirable.

This position requires:

  • Good judgement and decision-making skills; ability to prioritize, organize, manage time effectively
  • Extraordinarily strong intra- and inter-personal skills, including a strong reflective capacity
  • Empathic response; supportive and helpful; appropriate personal and professional boundaries. Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, the culture of poverty, are a few of the areas of knowledge needed
