CARD HEAD START EARLY HEAD START
PROGRAM GOALS
I. Children’s development will be enhanced through experience in CARD’s high quality, relationship based programming which is grounded in research-based, school readiness goals.
II. Children and enrolled expectant mothers will show gains in health status through appropriate health care and education about healthy choices.
III. Parents will build their perceived capacity/competency in their skills as their child’s primary teacher and/or parent, and be involved in the support of the child’s social and emotional development, and other developmental domains.
IV. Parents will make progress in their individualized family goals, e.g., economic self-sufficiency, educational attainment, relationship development, home environment, etc.
V. CARD HS/EHS’ voice in the communities will facilitate growth in understanding of School Readiness programming and families’ needs through CARD’s active engagement in area boards, task forces, collaborative agreements, and partnerships.
VI. Staff will continue to grow and improve in their professional development in key areas, including but not limited to: emotional supportiveness, use of language and literacy, math concepts and family engagement strategies for support of school readiness.
